Free Friday: What? It's just a little fire?!

When I was a kid, I was a "fire bug." I loved matches, especially the wooden ones. We had boxes of them EVERYWHERE. I don't really know why they intrigued me, maybe it was the look and feel? Maybe it was the smell after you struck the match, or even farther down the Freudian Path, it was the transformation of the match and anything it touched? I hear people say that rebels make the best cops and kids who play with matches make the best firefighters. Again, I don't know, those thoughts are way above a simple guy's pay grade.

The other thing I wanted when I was a kid was to be able pick up a pencil/pen and be able to make a world, any world, that I could run through. Now, YEARS later, as I approach my "senior" years I look back and wonder if I made that dream a reality? To be able to jump into a world of my own choosing, where things don't have to follow the norm and a momentary break is just a scribble away.

I don't see it as something odd, we all have our things to carry; mine just happens to be with ink, and the transportation is as close as the end of my arm, and my departure is as fast as my imagination will take me. God gave me this ability to switch it on and off as many times as I need and as fast as I want. I intend to use it FREQUENTLY from now on and you have a front row seat.
